The Area de Conservacion Reserva Comunal Regional Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo (ACRCTT) is one of the hot spots of Amazon rainforest biodiversity. It has the greatest diversity of trees, mammals, monkeys and over 540 species of birds. Amazonia Expeditions is the only licensed tour operator in the ACRCTT. We have two lodges, a main lodge that has won recognition as one of the world's best wilderness lodges and a Research Center Lodge, with affiliation to Yale University.
The strength of Amazonia’s program is the great variety of itinerary options available to travelers, with sufficient professional guides and support staff to customize the itinerary to the needs and interests of every individual guest. Travelers can swim with pink dolphins, fly through the trees on the Amazon’s longest canopy zipline, canoe into backwater lakes, hike on the largest trail grid in the Amazon--52 miles, motorboat excursions, and visit native villages.
The lodges are open year round with trips starting and ending any day of the year. Because the diversity of ecosystems, there is a lot to do and see. To achieve the best possible Amazon experience, we recommend a trip length of 7 to 14 days.
Amazonia Expeditions has operated fine natural history and adventure trips in the western Amazon since 1981. Let Amazonia Expeditions show you the wonders of The Amazon.
